In Ukraine, the growing wage arrears

In July 2018, the total amount of arrears of wages in Ukraine increased by 0.4% and on August 1 amounted to 2,734 billion. On Tuesday, August 28, according to state statistics.

It is also noted that in July the amount of arrears of wages of economically active enterprises decreased by 0.1% and on August 1 amounted to 1,564 billion.

The growth of wage arrears in the last month was recorded in the Transcarpathian (32.8%), Ivano-Frankivsk (somewhere around 19,1%), Kherson (14.2%), Khmelnytskyi (by 12.3%), Kiev (12,1%), Dnipropetrovsk (10.4%), Vinnytsia (by 7.5%), Sumy (by 5.6%), Odesa and Cherkasy (by 4.9%), Ternopil (by 4.8%), Kharkiv (3.9%), Zhytomyr and Luhansk (2.6%), Kyiv (1.3%) and Mykolaiv (by 1.1%).

At the same time wage arrears in July 2018 declined in Chernivtsi (by 90.1%), Kirovohrad ( by 15.6%), Volyn (by 10.5%), Donetsk (9.2%), Zaporizhzhya (6.1%), Rivne (by 3.7%), Lviv (1%), Chernihiv (0.8%) and Poltava (by 0.5%).

According gosstata, most of the debt increased in education by 144,4% (10,593 million UAH), the arts, sports, entertainment, and recreation – by 28.2% (1,552 million), wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles – by 20.7% (24,329 million UAH), agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 9.7% (up to 19,029 million), professional, scientific and technical activities – by 5.8% (to 118,856 million UAH), information and telecommunications – 5.5% (10,362 million UAH), health care and social assistance 4.4% (27,202 million UAH).

At the same time, in providing other types of services managed to reduce debt – 69,7% (of 0.236 million UAH), in a temporary accommodation and food – 43.3% (up to UAH 1,333 million), public administration and defence; compulsory social insurance – 3.3% (up to UAH 4,630 million), building on a 3.1% (80,528 million UAH), industry – by 0.6% (up to 2,172 billion).

Earlier it was reported that during the year the real wages of Ukrainians grew by 15%. In July 2018, the average nominal wage full-time employee amounted to UAH 9170.
