According to the data from the table, approximate the percentage of those living in Ukraine in conditions of modern slavery, is of 6.41 per 1000 people.

Reportedly, among the countries of Europe and Central Asia Ukraine was on the fifth place among the countries with the highest levels of modern slavery where Belarus is on the ground, and Russia – on the eighth. According to the data in the table by world regions, the absolute number of victims of this phenomenon in Ukraine is 301 thousand.

It is noted that the response of the Ukrainian government on this phenomenon corresponds to the average level among all surveyed countries.

In turn, neighboring Russia in the global ranking was 64. In the first place – North Korea, where the highest prevalence of modern slavery in the world, and one out of every ten citizens of the DPRK have suffered from this practice.

The report defines modern slavery as slavery and human trafficking, forced labour, debt bondage, forced or servile marriage and sale or exploitation of children.

Earlier it was reported that the poverty rate in Ukraine is now higher than five years ago.
