Seven of the scales already approved by the IOC for the introduction of the 2020 Olympics.

The international weightlifting Federation (IWF) approved the introduction of 10 new weight categories in men’s and women’s grades, reports Inside the Games.

Updated categories developed by the ad hoc group on the basis of scientific and statistical data. The men will be divided in the following weight categories: up to 55 kg to 61, 67, 73, 81, 89, 96, 102, 109 up to and over 100 pounds.

Updated women’s weight category as follows: up to 45 pounds, up to 49, 55 to 59, to 64, 71 to 76, 81 to 87 and more than 87 pounds.

Seven categories from each of the discharge already approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for introductions to their 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Men will be in the following scales: up to 61 kg, to 67, 73, 81, 96, 109 and 109 more pounds, and women – 49 kg, to 55, to 59, to 64, to 76, to 87 and more than 87 pounds.

It is noted that the previous weight category in weightlifting has not changed for over 20 years.
