The lagging indicators of 2016 was minimal.

Industrial production in Ukraine in September 2017 fell by 0.3% compared to the same month in 2016. According to the State statistics service.

The Agency notes that with the correction for the effect of calendar days in the industrial production in September-2017 September 2016 was decreased by only 0.1%.

It also indicates that in relation to August of this year, industrial production grew by 2.5%, but taking into account the seasonal factor decreased by 0.4%. In the first eight months of the lagging indicators of 2016 was 0.4%, seven months of 0.7%.

The government believes that these indicators suggest that Ukraine’s economy has overcome the crisis consequences of the blockade of Donbass. This was announced by first Vice Prime Minister-Minister Stepan kubiv.

In comments to the press service of the Cabinet, he noted that growth was recorded in production of capital goods – 3.4%, consumer durables – 3.7%, and intermediate consumption products – by 3.4%.

Thus, increased refining, chemical industry due to increase in exports of organic compounds and the growth of domestic demand, as well as light industry and metallurgy.

“We expect that by the end of the year the growth of production will ensure that investment, export and consumer demand. And among the risk factors there is a probability of shortage of coke for the steel industry and increasing costs of production,” – said Kubiv.
