Tehran will remove the ban on the sale of cash currency in exchange offices and does not intend to limit the importation of currency and gold.

Iran state television reported that Tehran plans to soften the rules of the exchange rate. Such a step is conditioned by the intention to resist the rapid devaluation of the national currency and the need to prepare new sanctions from the United States.

In particular, Tehran will remove the ban on the sale of cash currency in exchange offices on flexible courses for such purposes as travel abroad. In addition, the authorities do not intend to limit the import to Iran of currency or gold, and the commodities and medicines will be purchased for hard currency, which for these purposes will be available at a discounted rate.

In recent days in several cities of Iran breaking out of mass unrest and riots associated with the economic policies of Tehran and against the spiritual leadership of the Islamic Republic. This is the third wave of protests in Iran in recent months after mass demonstrations in late 2017 and early 2018, and also last June. The discontent of Iranians caused by the deterioration of living standards as a result of higher prices for commodities. During the protests one person was killed.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald trump said that negotiations between the US and Iran at the highest level depends on the Iranian side.
