The Eurovision winner was greeted at the airport by several hundred people and a lot of journalists.

The winner of the Eurovision song contest in 2016, which was held in Stockholm, singer Jamala arrived in Ukraine.

More than 500 people with flowers and with Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar flags came out to meet Jamal at the airport “Borispol”, was among the greeters and the Chairman of the Mejlis, MP Refat Chubarov.

“I know you supported me. I knew I was sending you rays of goodness. I am very grateful to you,” said the singer in communicating with journalists.

Jamal said that it has already congratulated the parents, who live in the Crimea.

The singer stressed that her victory means that the history of the Crimean Tatars heard.

“This means that the story that was hidden for many years, about which many years no one wanted to hear, heard it. It is constantly defiled the story of the Crimean Tatars in different words, but the important thing is that it wasn’t true. This means that justice exists,” said Jamal, speaking to reporters at the airport.

Also, according to her, Ukraine deserved to win the Eurovision song contest and now the country has a great responsibility to carry forward at a decent level of competition next year.

Jamal assured that he is reluctant to next year’s competition took place in the Crimea, but doubts that is possible.

“Crimea is occupied now. I would really like it to be in the Crimea, but we can’t know that… don’t Get me wrong, I just think that in a year we will not be able to do it”, – said the singer.

Jamal noted that Europe is perceived and understood her song, which was different from the traditional contest of compositions.

The winner of the international Eurovision song contest 2016 in Stockholm is the singer from Ukraine Jamal.

She sang the song in 1944, which tells about the deportation of Crimean Tatars in may 1944. The singer just scored 534 points. In second place, Australia (511), the third – Russia (491).

Jamal will be awarded the title “people’s artist of Ukraine”, said the Minister of culture Yevhen Nyshchuk.
