Since October, the price of gas could rise by 23.5%. This issue among others is discussed during the talks between representatives of Ukraine and the IMF report Tuesday, September 11, Ukrainian news, citing its sources.

The main subject of the talks was the possible launch of a new funding programme Stand-by, which will replace the existing EFF and help to avoid default and a sharp rise in gas prices for households.

As emphasized by the publication, discussed the new program, which would start from April 2019 (completion date effective 2015 eff EFF), namely the option of replacing it now with new Stand-by. Practically, this means refinancing.

It is reported that the replacement program will provide an opportunity to overload the question of raising gas prices.

At the current EFF program gas prices may increase by 23.5% since October – about 8,5 thousand hryvnias. This is despite the fact that the IMF agreed to lower the bar to 30%. Gas prices for industry and population should be compared.

According to unofficial information, the new Memorandum will also be raised about the introduction of a land market.

Earlier, Groisman said that the increase in gas prices will save Ukraine from default.
