Киев и Варшава обсудят закон об образовании

The meeting is scheduled at the level of relevant Ministers.

The heads of the ministries of education of Ukraine and Poland will meet to discuss a controversial language law. This was announced by the Ambassador of Poland in Ukraine Jan Inferno in comments to the Agency Interfax-Ukraine on Sunday, October 15.

“Such a meeting is planned. We consider it necessary to hold such consultations at the level of the Minister of education of Ukraine, Hrynevych and the Minister of education of Poland,” said Inferno.

The Ambassador said that Poland shares the position of Ukraine on the necessity of studying the Ukrainian language, but also consider it necessary to provide possibility of studying native language by national minorities.

He also stressed the need for bilateral dialogue on this issue.

“We just need to talk among themselves and to clarify some points,” added Slaughter.

We will remind, the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a decision on the law on education in languages of national minorities in Ukraine.
