The foreign Ministry of Ukraine said that the Russian authorities on the Peninsula are a threat to the cultural heritage of the Crimean Tatar people.

Ukraine called on UNESCO to take urgent measures to prevent the threat of the destruction of the Khan’s Palace in Bakhchisarai, the press service of the foreign Ministry of Ukraine.

It is noted that the critical situation around the Khan’s Palace in Bakhchisaray was the main subject of a special meeting of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO, which took place at the Ministry of foreign Affairs on January 19.

The meeting participants noted that the so-called restoration works in the Palace in Bakhchisarai pose a real threat of destruction of a monument a UNESCO world heritage site.

It was decided to take steps to mobilize international efforts, primarily under the auspices of UNESCO, to preserve the unique object.

Earlier it was reported that in the Crimea to the Khan’s Palace of Bakhchisaray carry out works that destroy a historical monument.
