Ukraine is preparing for transmission to the European court of human rights, and information about non-judgment on the captured sailors.
Ukraine collects information about the non-implementation by Russia of decisions of the European court of human rights on the treatment of Ukrainian seafarers and providing them with all the rights and freedoms in accordance with the European Convention on human rights. This was stated by Commissioner for the ECHR Ivan Hazel, said on Sunday, December 30, RBC-Ukraine.
In particular, he recalled that the ECHR partially granted the appeal of Ukraine because of the conflict of Ukraine and Russia in the Kerch Strait and the capture of Ukrainian sailors.
“The court only partially granted because the decision of the European court does not oblige to completely release the sailors, but met in this part: of the Russian Federation ordered to provide them medical care. We are now working hard to collect relevant information and submit to the ECHR in those parts where we believe that Russia is violating its commitment,” said Hazel.
According to him, it comes as Russia’s violation of the rights of sailors on liberty and failure to provide prisoners with adequate medical care.
“The treatment concerned the provisional measures, that is what we need to do right now. In General, we collect information about the General human rights violations at the sailors. In particular, the right to personal liberty, conditions of detention. You will be talking about the treatment, it will be one of the highlights. Moskalkova (Ombudsman of the Russian Federation – ed.) reports that provide treatment and we have information another. Not all, not even wrong”, he added.
We will remind, on December 4, the European court of human rights decided to partially satisfy the statement of Ukraine on the application of provisional measures, in accordance with rule 39 of the rules of court, and ordered Russia to ensure that wounded sailors treatment.
It was also reported that Ukraine 7 January will give a full-fledged inter-state application to the ECHR demanding the release of Russia captured Ukrainian sailors.
