Kiev urged the EU to change relations with Ukraine

Ukraine is ready, if not equal, then a serious dialogue, saying the foreign Ministry.

The Ministry of foreign Affairs urged the EU to change the model of relations with Ukraine, in particular to move away from a paternalistic approach.

The corresponding statement was made by the Director of the EU Department, Ministry of foreign Affairs Vsevolod Chentsov, UNIAN reports.

“The model should be different, and there should be a balance of obligations, as regards the Association Agreement, as regards the Energy community. That is, the changing pattern of relations, changing attitudes and moving away from that a little paternalistic approach,” he said.

According to him, Ukraine is ready, if not equal, then a serious dialogue.

“We now, for example, grew out of those pink, probably pants just object of EU policies. That is, we claim, and there is every reason for us to have some, if not equal, but a serious dialogue,” said foreign Ministry spokesman.

The diplomat noted that Ukraine in developing relations with the EU has become hostage to many of the internal problems of the European Union.

He recalled that the agreement on common aviation area “freezes due to certain problems between – again – member countries” of the EU. This situation, according to him, exists in the energy sector, in particular, the issue of OPAL.

We will note, Ukraine has repeatedly stated that it has complied with all 144 requirements for bezveza with the EU and the Association Agreement. The foreign Ministry said that put pressure on the EU to speed up bizwise., however, it was noted that the European Union is now a leadership crisis.
