Ukraine lags behind the schedule for the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU

As of the end of winter the General progress of the implementation of commitments to the EU stood at 63%.

In 2018 year, Ukraine has implemented 41% of the obligations of the Association Agreement. This was reported on the European integration portal.

So, in 2018, Ukraine has fulfilled 50% of the obligations in the sphere of sanitary and phytosanitary measures; 54% in agriculture; 65% – overcoming technical barriers to trade; 67% – in the sphere of social policy and labor relations; 80% of the responsibilities in the field of entrepreneurship.

In addition, Ukraine has gained 57 of bills aimed at ensuring the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU.

The total number of bills – 57. In this case, 6 of draft laws adopted in the second reading, and there are 11 bills that have already passed the first reading in Parliament.

Earlier, the Cabinet reported that last year Ukraine has fulfilled 29% of liabilities in 2016, and 41% of the obligations under the Association Agreement that is in 2017. Overall progress of implementation of obligations as at the end of winter, was 63%.

We will note, last week the European Parliament Committee on foreign Affairs for the first time at the meeting considered the draft report on the implementation by Ukraine of the Association Agreement with the EU.
