A special assessment mission of the UN in the Donbass should to evaluate the cost, the number, timing and preconditions for the deployment of peacekeepers in Eastern Ukraine to launch practical work on the implementation of the project.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he appealed to the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres with a request to send to the Donbass special mission to evaluate the cost, number and required deadline for the deployment of peacekeepers. The head of state said in an interview with Ukrainian TV channels on Friday, April 13.

“I personally appealed to the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to the East of Ukraine were sent an evaluation mission to the UN estimated the cost, size, deployment, prerequisites, and began practical work on the implementation of the project,” he explained.

According to Poroshenko, the evaluation mission of the UN can arrive to Donbas without UN security Council decisions, and the decision of the Secretary General of the organization.

“I’m doing my best, so we launched this mission in 2018”, – said Poroshenko.

We will remind, earlier Poroshenko said that more than 40 countries ready to take part in the peacekeeping mission in the occupied territory of Donbass.
