The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church initiated the provision of humanitarian assistance to these countries.

Ukraine will provide humanitarian aid to the starving population of Yemen, Sudan and the Congo. Relevant government documents is available to RBC-Ukraine.

According to the published in February according to the UN, in Yemen, there were 17 million people (60% of the population) in Sudan, 3.8 million (9% of population) in Congo – 7.7 million (11% of the population) who are in dire need of food and livelihood.

In the context of government measures to honoring the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church initiated the provision of humanitarian assistance to these countries.

Also already received agreement in principle Yemen, and Sudan, and Congo have expressed interest. At the same time, the volume of humanitarian assistance is not disclosed.

Recall, according to the German organization to help the starving of the world (Deutsche Welthungerhilfe), the number of people on the planet suffering from hunger and exhaustion, has been growing over the past three years and currently has reached 821 million.
