MPs voted against the abolition of the law on ratification of the Agreement

Deputies of the Parliament of the Netherlands voted against the abolition of the law on ratification of the Agreement on Association Ukraine-EU, reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.

So, the socialist party of the Netherlands was put forward in Parliament a proposal to the government to repeal the law on ratification of the Association Agreement EU-Ukraine. However, the two coalition parties and two independent deputies voted against the abolition of this law, supporting the government by 75 votes to 71. One MP from the ruling labour party defected to the opposition.

For this decision the Parliament of the Netherlands has expressed gratitude to the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin.

“I thank the members of the Dutch Parliament for the wise decision, which leaves the door open for solutions in the interests of the Netherlands, Ukraine and the EU,” wrote the foreign Minister in the microblog in Twitter.

As reported, after the referendum on ratification of the Agreement between Ukraine and the EU the Netherlands will not be able to continue the ratification process.
