Foreign Minister of Ukraine noted numerous legislative initiatives U.S. senators to support Kiev.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly during the meeting with the Chairman of the Committee on foreign relations U.S. Senate Robert Corker and co-chair of Committee Robert Menendez discussed the situation in the Donbas and in the Crimea. About it the Ukrainian Embassy in the USA reported on his page in Facebook.

It is noted that during the meeting, which was held on 15 November, discussed current issues of cooperation with Congress, especially in the direction of further increasing pressure on Russia.

Klimkin spoke about current situation in temporarily occupied territories of Donbass and Crimea, and also about reforms in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian side thanked the senators for their numerous legislative initiatives aimed at supporting Ukraine. The foreign Minister highlighted the historic decision of the U.S. Senate about the adoption of a resolution on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor in Ukraine.

Also Klimkin stressed the importance of legislative consolidation proposed by the Senate and House of representatives of increasing aid to Ukraine under the state Department, the Pentagon and the U.S. Agency for international development in the Federal budget of the United States 2019.

We will remind, in October, the U.S. Senate recognized the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

Earlier it was reported that the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine went on a working visit to the United States, which runs from 14 to 16 November. The main purpose of the visit is the holding of the inaugural meeting of the updated format of the Commission of the strategic partnership Ukraine-USA.
