Kyiv to discuss with the IMF the price of gas for the population

The talks will be held in Washington.

Ukraine and the international monetary Fund will discuss the pricing of gas for households next week in Washington. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of energy and coal industry of Ukraine Igor Prokopiv on Wednesday, October 4.

“The negotiations will continue next week in Washington, there goes the Minister of Finance of Ukraine (Oleksandr danylyuk – ed.)”, – he said.

Prokop added that until the conclusion of the negotiations, the Cabinet decided not to change the price of gas. “While we have frozen the price”, – said the Deputy Minister.

Earlier, Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman reported that the government conducts verification of the formula of pricing of gas for the population.

Prior to this, the Deputy head of the IMF David Lipton said the gas prices in Ukraine are very low compared to neighbouring countries.
