The head of the Russian foreign Ministry said that the U.S. proposal to the peacekeeping contingent is not conducive to a “direct dialogue” between Kiev and the separatists.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov said that the US proposal regarding the UN mission in Eastern Ukraine is unacceptable and assured that “the Donbass will not surrender.”He said this at a press conference in Moscow, reports UNIAN.

Lavrov reminded that Russia has offered to host the UN mission for the protection of OSCE observers in Eastern Ukraine. According to Lavrov, in response to American colleagues have put forward the rule that “invented” Kurt Volker, the U.S. representative of the Ukrainian settlement.

According to the Russian Minister, these rules was not to, as envisaged by the Minsk agreements, to encourage direct dialogue between Kiev and the militants and provide this dialogue with the mediation of the OSCE the resolution of all issues, and to “enter the Donbass 30-thousand military contingent with heavy weapons and take control of the entire perimeter of the territory of Donbass, which we are now speaking,” said Lavrov.

Previously, Mr. Walker explained that Russia does not agree with the proposals for UN peacekeepers in the Donbass, however, not put forward their options.

“We made a proposal on the placement of the UN peacekeeping mission that would ensure security in the occupied territory and created the conditions to Minsk agreement was eventually implemented. We are talking about local elections, Amnesty, etc.” – said the representative of us state Department.
