The number of Ukrainians in the Russian prisons has increased two and a half times.

She announced this figure, responding to a question regarding the availability of official contacts with the Russian Ombudsman Tatiana Moskalkova.

“Tatiana Moskalkova we are working very actively, but due to the fact that we have to date, more than 5 thousand Ukrainians are in custody in the territory of the Russian Federation. This is the main theme of our cooperation. Tatiana sometimes appeals to me about those citizens who are in custody in the territory of Ukraine”, – said Lutkovska.

She also did not confirm or deny the information on participation of the Russian side in the recent exchange of hostages in the Donbas.

“It’s difficult to say on what he took or did not take part the Russian side, I can tell you about who was at the checkpoint in the Mallorcan in that moment, when we were preparing buses and perform the procedure with representatives of the so-called LNR, and then came to the representatives of the so-called DNR. Here are the ones who really took an active part”, – said the Ombudsman.

She also reported that the Ukrainian prisons are about 320 citizens of the Russian Federation. Among them – 10 military, which directly participated in the military conflict in the Donbas.
