In the GPU are already going through

Acting Prosecutor General Yury Sevruk opposes the election of the attorney General through an open competition.

He hinted that open competitions for the head of the NABU and the Special anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office resulted in the nomination “medium-size” rather than the best specialists.

“Right or wrong? In my opinion, no. Still need to choose the best. Unfortunately, the public pressure to influence the decision of the Commission, and any decisions are taken under pressure,” he said.

Opinions are divided

The Director of the National anti-corruption Bureau Artem Sytnik considers that the possible appointment of the head of the faction PPO Yuriy Lutsenko, the Prosecutor General will be the last chance for reforming the prosecution service.

“I’m convinced that Yuriy Lutsenko is aware of the deep responsibility which he will assume in the event of its assignment. And I think that this assignment is the last chance for the prosecution and for the whole Ukraine”, – said Sytnik.

The former attorney General of Ukraine Sviatoslav Piskun believes that the attorney General cannot be a politician, and should be equidistant from all political forces.

According to him, the GPU will always pull in the policy and therefore the attorney General should be able to tell the President “no”.
