The attorney General said that the need to create an anti-corruption court

In Ukraine the process of creating an anti-corruption court can take up to a year and a half. This was stated on Tuesday, 3 July, Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko during a briefing in Kharkov, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

“This process will obviously be delayed from a year and a half. We need to increase the number of new judges, which would be considered 4 thousand corruption cases”, – said the Prosecutor General.

In this regard, Lutsenko asked the President of Petro Poroshenko to increase the number of judges in regional centers of Ukraine

“We are confident that the Higher anti-corruption court will be established in a constitutional way by the High Council of justice after the holding of the respective competitions and interviews with public organizations”, – said the Prosecutor General

Lutsenko is convinced that the anti-corruption court should be not only in Kiev and not only for the National anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine.

“All 4 thousand cases of criminal corruption that is now in the courts, should consider the anti-corruption court”, – said the Prosecutor General.

Recall on the establishment of an independent, professional judicial institutions, which must ensure the fight against corruption, the EU insists.
