The attorney General called the former President a coward.

Judicial review of criminal proceedings against former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych of treason will continue. This was stated by Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko, commenting on the decision of Yanukovych to refuse to participate in the trial.

“Yanukovych was a coward early on the court, but… there is a practice of granting to any person the public defender. That is the procedure I went today to the court,” – said Lutsenko.

“The court will go on. I am certain that there are law and justice will not stop anything: neither the escape of Yanukovych, nor his cowardice, nor his loud bubbles of a coup d’etat” – summed up Lutsenko.
