Kyiv and Lviv, according to the specialized edition of the Financial Times – FDI Magazine – in the ranking of cities with high economic efficiency to the Smart Locations of the Future 2019/20, took fifth and eighth place respectively. According to the press service of the Kyiv city Council, the rating takes into account such indicators as the cost per square meter annual rent for office premises of class “A”, the average wage of a skilled worker, the cost of accommodation in the city center for one night in hotels of category 4* and 5*, the General rate of income tax, the aggregate value of the company establishment, registration of ownership and connection of industrial enterprises to the power grid.
First place in the ranking took the city of Skopje (Macedonia). Some places in Kiev also ahead of Sofia (Bulgaria), Kaunas (Lithuania) and Gdansk (Poland).
Earlier, Kiev entered the TOP 35 largest start-up cities. The capital of Ukraine took the 34th place among more than 1,000 cities in the world in the rankings of startup cities.
And Lviv was named the best Ukrainian city for quality of life. The rating takes into account eight criteria, among which, in particular, the index of purchasing power, the cost of real estate relative to incomes, security index, climate.
