The state of the banking system is currently stable, the introduction of martial law in the country affected the banking system. This was announced by first Deputy head of the National Bank of Ukraine Ekaterina Rozhkova during a briefing in Kyiv on Monday, December 3, Interfax reported.

According to her, the outflows of the banking system do not exist.

“I have no data for Friday, but the volume of term deposits has not changed in the whole banking system, if you compare the status a week before the imposition of martial law and the last data we saw on Friday morning,” said Rozhkov.

The first Deputy head said that the liquidity of the banking system currently ranges between 72-75 billion. Treatment of banks for liquidity support available.

“Fluctuations that we have seen, it was the fluctuations of the current balances. But the characteristic oscillations that are completely unrelated to panic,” – said Rozhkov.

According to her, in the first two days after martial law, do the call centers of the banks working more intensively, as do a lot of questions from the public. However, today the situation has stabilized, she added.

The first Deputy head of the NBU said that the first days after the imposition of martial law was also observed increased sensitivity of the population to the situation on the currency market, in particular in areas specified in the law of the Verkhovna Rada. However, today the situation has stabilized.

Earlier, the Chairman of the National Bank said that the country’s banking system ready for a smooth operation in conditions of martial law.
