Ukraine has enough measles vaccines
The spread of measles may exceed the worst incidence rate that was registered in Ukraine in 2006.
Since the beginning of 2018 measles in Ukraine got sick 36 thousand 455 people – 14 adults and 111 thousand 22 thousand 344 child. About it reports a press-service of the Ministry of health on Tuesday, November 6.
It is noted that the rate of spread of measles can achieve and exceed the worst incidence rate that was registered in Ukraine in 2006. If the disease is found in more than 42 thousand people.
Since the start of 2018, more people have measles in Lviv (7 of 364 thousand), Ivano-Frankivsk (3 612 thousand), Transcarpathian (3 459 thousand), Odessa (2 thousand 550) regions, Kyiv (2 thousand 408) and Ternopil oblast (2 thousand 120).
From complications of measles, died 15 people – 11 children and four adults.
In General, during the 44 weeks of 2018 measles sick 1,246 – 359 887 adults and children. This is 5.5% lower than the previous week.
In Intrave stressed that now Ukraine has enough vaccines for routine and intensified immunization against measles. As of November 1, there were more than 600 thousand doses of vaccines against measles, mumps and rubella (CCP). All vaccines delivered to the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
We will remind, for the first nine months of 2018, the number of cases of measles in Ukraine has increased by 17 times compared to the same period of 2017. The highest incidence rates are observed in areas where the coverage of routine immunization is the lowest.
