To return Donbass, we need the direct negotiation process, said the leader of Ukrainian choice.

To return the Donbass should be a direct dialogue between Kiev and Moscow. This opinion was expressed by the special representative on humanitarian issues in the framework of the Trilateral contact group Viktor Medvedchuk in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine.

“Ukraine must act through agreement with Russia, which has influence on the unrecognized Republic. Yes, in accordance with the Minsk agreements. Yes, in the framework of the Normandy format. But direct dialogue is very necessary. I am a supporter of such negotiations. And any agreement to be reached by Ukraine with Russia on the issue of peaceful settlement, I’m sure will be met with applause in Germany and France, and in Brussels and Washington,” he said.

According to Medvedchuk, the direct talks between Kiev and Moscow meet the interests of Ukraine. At the same time he stressed that he believes the Minsk agreement is uncontested.

“I have repeatedly said that the Minsk agreement is the format of the agreements that there can be alternatives. And it is supported not only in Berlin, Paris, Moscow and Kiev (unfortunately not all), but they have support in Brussels and Washington,” said Medvedchuk.

Recall, Viktor Medvedchuk, special envoy for humanitarian issues in the Earlier, Medvedchuk said that the Minsk agreements supported by the whole world, the opponents of the peaceful settlement of the conflict is only in Ukraine.
