Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said that Ukraine moved to Russia more than 250 thousand Russians from the war zone in the Donbas. He said this, speaking at the world forum “In unity with Russia”, says the press service of the Russian government.
He says they are massively moving in the framework of the state program on “assisting the voluntary resettlement to Russia compatriots from abroad”.
This year the number of immigrants has reached 500 thousand people, and supposedly more than half of them from Ukraine.
According to him, they are fleeing from war and hope for support of Russia, which has always been their “second homeland.”

They hope to Russia, her support, her help, her protection. For them Russia has always been a second home, and will now. Many of them plan on staying forever here,” – said Medvedev.
