MEP: Russia can not rely on the lifting of sanctions because of the release of Savchenko

Евродепутат: РФ может не расчитывать на снятие санкций из-за освобождения Савченко

The fact of the liberation of Hope Savchenko from Russian imprisonment does not mean the abolition of Western sanctions from Russian Federation. On Wednesday, may 25, said the head of the Green faction in the European Parliament Rebecca harms in an interview with DW.

According to harms, the exchange of prisoners and hostages is only part of the Minsk agreements “and not the most important part”. Much more important, in her opinion, there are some items, like the renewal of Ukraine’s control in certain parts of the Russian-Ukrainian border, the observance of the cease-fire and withdrawal of heavy weapons. “But this is not observed”, – said harms.
