Moody’s Investors Service has upgraded the credit rating of Ukraine by one notch to Caa2 from Caa3. Also, Moody’s changed the Outlook from “stable” to “positive,” said the Agency.

It is noted that the main factors raising the rating the overall impact of structural reforms in Ukraine that can help the government to cope with the debt burden and improving the country’s position in foreign markets.

The Agency said that the positive Outlook reflects the momentum of reform if it continues, it could lead to a further improvement of the reliability of internal and external debt of Ukraine.

“The reform momentum will also support the upgrading of the access of Ukraine to global capital markets facilitate the refinancing of a significant foreign debt payments that will come, starting in 2019”, – stated in the message.

The growth rating is only one notch from Caa2 to Caa3 – because of the burden of payments of foreign debts.

Earlier Moody’s said that sanctions against the Ukrainian “daughters” Russian banks on parent banks themselves will have limited impact.
