The President of Ukraine trying to be constructive, and then changes his position, said the head of the Russian foreign Ministry.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov said that the presidents of Ukraine and Russia Petro Poroshenko and Vladimir Putin are in constant contact. He said this in an interview with National Interest.

Recently in Kiev said that this year twice Poroshenko talked with Putin. It was reported that the heads of state discussed the situation in Avdeevka and the exchange of prisoners.

“He (Poroshenko – ed.) is in constant contact with President Putin, sometimes they talk on the phone, talking on the sidelines of the meeting in the “Normandy format” during the leaders meetings, the last conversation took place in Berlin in October last year”, – said Lavrov.

According to him, Poroshenko is trying to be constructive, and then changes his position.

“I have the impression that he was trying to be constructive, to find ways of returning to the implementation of the Minsk agreements. But the next day, he returned to Kiev, or goes abroad and does a completely hostile and totally unfair public statements,” he said.

At the same time, Lavrov said that Poroshenko wants to destroy the Minsk agreement.

“I believe that the Ukrainian government and President Petro Poroshenko personally want to bury them. They want to do it so that all the onus was on Russia and the East of Ukraine”, – said the Russian Minister.

Earlier media reported about the four telephone talk of Poroshenko and Putin since the beginning of 2017. It was claimed that the last conversation took place on 21 February on the initiative of Ukraine.

The Kremlin later confirmed the two telephone conversation between Putin and Poroshenko.
