Scientists from the University of Texas in Austin have found a new and simple way to improve sleep quality and reduce the time to fall asleep. It is reported by EurekAlert!.
Experts have established the link between taking a shower 1-2 hours before bedtime and quality of sleep. To do this, they studied 5322 medical research.
They looked for connections between the heating body with a warm shower or bath and sleep quality. In the study took into account such criteria as the time of falling asleep, total sleep time, the ratio of time sleeping to time in bed and subjective sleep quality.
It turned out that taking a bath or a warm shower for 1-2 hours before sleep reduces time to fall asleep for 10 minutes, and improves the quality of night rest. The water temperature should be 40-42 degrees Celsius.
