The IMF mission will arrive in Ukraine in early September

The IMF mission will arrive in Ukraine with a two-week visit on 6 September. According to media reports, the Ukrainian authorities have agreed with the Fund on a new tranche.

The International monetary Fund mission will visit Ukraine in the period 6 to 19 September.

This was stated on Monday, August 13, the Fund’s resident representative in Ukraine Jost Longman, the press service of the IMF.

“At the request of the Ukrainian authorities, the IMF mission will visit Kyiv in the period from 6 to 19 September 2018 to discuss recent important economic events and economic policy,” – said in a statement.

According to Longman, the mission also will discuss the next steps, “including financial assistance from the IMF to support policies aimed at maintaining macroeconomic stability and ensuring economic development towards sustainable and inclusive growth”.

Note, the last time the IMF mission visited Ukraine in may. Then they checked the National Commission on securities and stock market of Ukraine.

Last week, the media reported that Ukraine agreed with the IMF on the allocation of the next tranche. The money can be allocated in September. Official confirmation of this information is not available.

At the same time, the national Bank believes that the IMF loans promote the financial stability of Ukraine, but they are not able to solve the structural problems of the economy.
