The rating shows the openness of city government, the availability of information on decisions and measures for prevention of corruption.

In the ranking of Ukrainian cities for the 2018 lead Drohobych, Mariupol and Vinnytsia. This is evidenced by a study by the NGO Transparency International Ukraine, published on Wednesday, March 6.

“The highest number of points received Drohobych (85,2 points out of a possible 100), Mariupol (76,4) (70,3), the Cover (68), Dnipro (66,6). It should be noted that in comparison with last year the Top 5 has changed dramatically: the leaders of 2017 was the lions, kropyvnyts’ke, Ivano-Frankivsk, Nikolaev and Kiev”, – stated in the message of Transparency International Ukraine.

It is noted that the rating indicates the extent to which the information provided to citizens, the quality of preventive measures to fight corruption and the openness of local government towards citizens when they want to get information.

According to the report, the overall level of transparency in the context of the 100 cities increased by 12%. At the same time, 27 cities of Ukraine received more than 50 points out of 100 in 2018, compared to six cities in 2017.

So, the leader of the rating of the city of Drohobych during the year increased the number of points from 46 to 85, jumping from tenth place to first.

“Among the positive developments in the city – electronic registration of applications for housing an archive of decisions on granting financial aid for two years, the city has received maximum points in five areas of the 13 that was estimated by analysts”, – noted in the organization.

Speaking about the increase in points in cities for the 2017-2018 year, the biggest jump has made the city Cover (from 18.3 points to by Gucci 67,95 points), Mariupol (with 28 points to 76,35 points), Dnepr (with 25.6 points to 66.6 points), Drohobych (from 46.2 points to 85.2 points), Bakhmut (27.26 points to 62.23 points).

“Negative growth in the cities of Podolsk and Kiev – this means that the information on the website was less compared to last year, and the city became even more closed to its residents”, – stated in the Transparency International Ukraine.

It is noted that the last place in the ranking of the 100 cities ranked: Coloma, Lubny, Svitlovodsk, Podolsk and Stryj. The capital of Ukraine took 11th place.

“Transparency ranking of 100 largest cities of Ukraine” for 2018 was compiled for 91 indicators in 13 areas. In particular, it addresses financial and public sector, procurement, public policy, education, social services, information about the work of local authorities.

We will remind, last year the winery with a significant margin win in the ranking of the regional centers of Ukraine. The survey assessed the quality of life of residents by 22 points.
