The forecast reserves for 2018 degraded by almost a billion dollars
The amount of reserves depends on the tranche of the IMF. The forecast worsened in the next three years.
National Bank has revised the forecast of the international reserves in 2018, worsening indicators from 21.6 billion to 20.7 billion. This is stated in the October Inflation report, published on the website of the NBU.
“The volume of reserves at the end of this year depends primarily on the volume of the tranche under a new cooperation program with the International monetary Fund, receipts, other official financing and the placement of Eurobonds by the government”, – stated in the message.
Also worsened the forecast of the following years: 2019 – 18,8 billion (previously $ 19.1 billion) in 2020 19.7 billion (previously $ 20 billion).
According to the updated forecasts, in 2018, the balance of payments of Ukraine will be reduced with a surplus of $ 2 billion (previous forecast $ 2.6 billion) in 2019 – with a deficit of 0.3 billion dollars (0.8 billion dollars) in 2020 – with a deficit of 0.1 billion (0 billion).
Note that on 1 October the international reserves of Ukraine amounted to 16,638 billion.
Earlier, the NBU said that the first tranche of the IMF can be granted already this year and will be 1.5-1.9 billion dollars.
