НАТО готово усилить поддержку Украины и Грузии

Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova are under pressure from Russia and need help in strengthening security and sovereignty.

NATO is ready to strengthen support and assistance to Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova to strengthen their security and sovereignty. About it the Deputy Secretary General of NATO Alexander Vershbow said in an interview to the Bulgarian Agency “BGNET”.

“It is important to enhance the stabilization of the neighboring region, increasing support for countries in the East, such as Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, which are under pressure from Russia and need help in strengthening security and sovereignty”, – said the representative of NATO.

In the interview, he also accused Russia of distorting the facts regarding the events in Crimea in March 2014 and added that during the NATO summit in Warsaw in the summer members will discuss the policy of containment towards Russia and other world threats.

“They (Russia – ed.) want the world to believe that Moscow has no relation to European security. Their version of the events in the Crimea is based solely on the legal sophistry and falsification of facts, but it is absolutely obvious that Russia was the aggressor in the violent change of borders for the first time since the Second world war and continues to violate the sovereignty of Ukraine”, – said Vershbow.

Previously Deputy Secretary General of NATO Alexander Vershbow said about the new strategy of the Alliance to deter Russia.
