“Bus Ghost” will ride on the roads

The bus is equipped in such a way as to create the impression that there is nobody driving.

The national police released on roads of Ukraine “driverless bus” Ghost in search of a better driver. The aim of the project is to draw attention to the problem of road safety and the importance of compliance with traffic rules (SDA).

This was reported on the website of national police on Friday, 9 November.

It is noted that the launch of the “bus-Ghost” is the second stage of social projects to Manage, which started in 2017 with the support of Advisory missions of the European Union.

“The bus is specially equipped in such a way as to create the impression that there is nobody driving”, – stated in the message.

The head of the Patrol police Alexander Fatsevich noted that through this project, law enforcement officers want to appeal to all road users to be responsible and abide by traffic rules.

“This bus will travel to cities across the country in order to show that sometimes drivers are irresponsible. If a person got behind the wheel or just coming along the road, he has to think about the consequences of his actions. We believe that the penalties, as fines, should be the last lever of influence on the driver,” said Fatsevich.

According to him, since the beginning of year on roads of Ukraine took place more than 122 thousand accidents and almost 20 thousand of them – with the victims. The number of accidents for the year decreased by 10%. Also from the beginning, the police found more than 800 thousand facts of exceeding set speed limits and 94.5 thousand facts of management of transport in a state of intoxication.

We will remind, from October 8 in Ukraine resumed its control over the observance of speed using a radar speed measurement TruCam.

Later it became known that the interior Ministry expects to receive up to 20 billion from fines for traffic violations, which were recorded automatically.
