Banks for the first time will be available to receive payments

Hour processing of payments will be available to Ukrainian customers in 2021, according to the NBU.

The national Bank hopes that the electronic payment system will begin to operate in the mode 23/7 with 1 April 2020, and the transition the clock is scheduled in 2021. In an interview with Liga.net said the former Director of Department of payment systems of NBU Dmitry yablunivka mountain.

He noted that the reception of payments in Ukraine simultaneously with the transition to the open ISO 20022 (international standard for the exchange of electronic messages between participants of the financial market).

“The national Bank expects that the main rails, transportation operations, initiated in the framework of the open banking, it will be a new BOT that allows for instant payments,” said yablunivka mountain.

Note that now the system is limited to the operating day of banks is from 8 to 19:00.

The national Bank said that the transition to 23/7 doesn’t mean that all banks will be required to continue operation at the first stage it will be a voluntary option.

The NBU is hoping that, potentially, EPA and the entire banking system will work around the clock.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian banks increased profit by almost four times. In seven months, banks earned 36.7 billion hryvnia, whereas a year earlier – less than 10 billion.
