NBU became a member of the Basel consultative group

Represent the Bank in the group is the Director of the financial stability Department Vitaly vavrischuk.

The national Bank of Ukraine became a member of the Basel consultative group established under the Basel Committee on banking supervision, said the press service of the NBU.

The purpose of the Advisory group is the involvement of supervisors in those countries that are not members, to discuss the new proposals of the Basel Committee.

Participants of the Basel consultative group are the Central banks and Supervisory authorities of 28 countries, among which Ukraine is now. To submit to the NBU in the group will be the Director of the financial stability Department Vitaly vavrischuk. It is noted that the consultative group meeting occur three times a year.

The main objectives of the Basel Committee on banking supervision is the introduction of uniform standards in banking regulation. To this end, developed guidelines and recommendations for regulatory bodies of the member States. These recommendations are not binding, however, in most cases reflected in national legislation of member States.

Recall, the NBU is working on the introduction of international standards of management of the banking sector, such as the principles of the Basel Committee, the recommendations of the group of the FATF, provisions of the agreements of the Organization for economic cooperation and development.

Earlier, the national Bank transferred to the state budget for the fourth tranche of the profit for the year 2016 in the amount of 5 billion hryvnia.
