NBU liquidates banks “Sophia” and “Petrocommerce-Ukraine”

The national Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on the proposals of the Fund for guaranteeing deposits of natural persons made the decision on revoking of the Bank license and liquidation of PJSC “Sophia” and PJSC “Petrocommerce-Ukraine”, reported the press service of the NBU.

After the assignment of the Bank “Petrocommerce-Ukraine” in the category of the problem found evidence the failure by the Bank to the clients operations in the fixed period. On March 16, the volume of outstanding transactions has exceeded 30% of the Bank’s liabilities. In this regard, the NBU was obliged to take decision on referring the Bank to category insolvent. “Petrocommerce-Ukraine” was classified as insolvent on March 17.

Bank “Saint Sophia” was classified as insolvent on December 22, 2015 due to the loss of liquidity. The owners of essential participation in a Bank are unable to take timely measures sufficient financial support to prevent insolvency of the Bank, the investor has not given the expected results.
