In NBU argue that consumer inflation will gradually decline

Inflation will be 8.9 percent at the end of current year under condition of structural reforms, said Chairman of the national Bank.

Consumer inflation will continue to decline and, in accordance with the forecast, NBU, end of the year will be 8.9%. On Thursday, may 24, writes UKRINFORM with reference to the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Yakov Smoliy.

According to him, this forecast will remain relevant only if the realization of its core assumptions – further progress in structural reforms, in particular in the framework of the extended Fund IMF.

“These reforms are critical for preserving macro-financial stability and to ensure long-term economic growth in Ukraine. The near future will be decisive for decision-making, important to continue cooperation with the official creditors of Ukraine. The need for such cooperation in recent complications developing countries ‘ access to global capital market. The cost of commercial borrowings of such countries is increasing amid the rise in the us dollar, increased geopolitical tensions and risks of deployment of trade wars,” – said resin.

Earlier, the NBU by the end of April confirmed the forecast of inflation for 2018 in the amount of 8.9%.
