Schalke midfielder Roman Neustädter, who was born in Ukraine and at the time expressed his desire to play for the Ukrainian team, in the end, chose Russia.

Previously, the player was already pre-included in the Russian national team for Euro 2016, however, he did not have citizenship of the country, which would exclude his statement for the Russian team.

Now on the official Russian Internet-portal of legal information was published the decree: “In accordance with paragraph “a” of article 89 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation I decide: to grant the application for admission in citizenship of the Russian Federation Roman Neustadter, who was born 18 February 1988 in Ukraine.”

Previously, the player refused German citizenship, and he wanted to play for Ukraine, but have not received a call in the Ukrainian national team. Later in his service became interested in the Russian national team, and Roman decided to introduce it.
