On “Kyoto” money will buy more cars for patrol

Previously, “Kyoto” funds were used to modernize the driving part of the Kiev metro.

The Cabinet of Ministers intends to use the balance received from Japan “Kyoto” funds for the purchase of hybrid vehicles for the police. The decision was taken at an extraordinary Cabinet meeting.

“I beg the Commission to the Ministry of ecology and natural resources, so we finished the negotiations with Japanese private companies about the possibility of sending the remaining funds received under the contracts — In particular to replace existing patrol vehicles with cars with a hybrid power plant, in the amount of 100% of the total Fund balance”, – said the Minister of ecology and natural resources of Ostap, Semerak.

The proposal was supported by Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman and Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov.

According to Semerak, these funds had previously planned to extend the project of replacement of system of external illumination of settlements, but according to the results of internal investigations were conducted in this project revealed violations and procurement tenders have been cancelled.

At the moment the Japanese side until may 31, awaiting the position of Ukraine regarding the use of these funds for other projects.

Semerak reminded that “Kyoto” funds were used to modernize the driving part of the Kiev metro (about 1.9 billion) and upgrading the car Park of the Ministry of internal Affairs (more than 0.5 billion UAH).

As reported, in 2014 Ukraine received $ 292 million to combat climate change.
