Pedestrian checkpoint on the border with Poland was closed due to the inability of the Ukrainian side to create the appropriate conditions for travelers.
From 1 January 2019 has stopped working pilot project – crosswalk between Ukraine (in Lviv region) and Poland to the border checkpoint the village-Dolgobychuv. This was reported by press Secretary of the Lublin voivode Marek Wechezak, reports Polish radio.
According to him, the chief commandant of the border service of Poland has noticed that “this pedestrian crossing does not impart technical conditions of customs clearance of pedestrian traffic, there are many threats.”
“What happens next? The Governor will submit a request to the state budget only for 2020, this year, this motion is denied and the project is not implemented. The petition of concern is to improve infrastructure in this checkpoint to be able to restore pedestrian traffic,” said Vecerek.
