Having suffered from losses and oil companies, carmaker Opel is planning over the next two years to release a hybrid version of the SUV Grandland X and elektroversiya Corsa, Vivaro and Mokka SUV.

German carmaker Opel is betting on electric cars. “We get rid of carbon dioxide,” – said the head of the group Michael Roseller at the meeting with journalists, reports the news Agency dpa on Thursday, December 6.

In particular, in 2019 it is planned to produce an electric version of the compact car Corsa, which, according to Larzelere to become “a true national electric car” and “make the electric vehicle available for a wide range of customers.”

In 2019-2020 planned to also release a hybrid version of the model X SUV Grandland and electric versions of the models Vivaro and Mokka SUV. Opel intends to 2024 to provide elektroversiya all its existing models.

In the last two decades, the now-successful automaker Opel has been unprofitable. In the summer of 2017 French group Peugeot Citroen (PSA) acquired from American General Motors Corporation for 1.3 billion euros of its subsidiaries – Opel, Vauxhall, along with the British.

PSA hopes that the reform of the company will yield positive results by 2020. Reseller in turn promised that the new Opel company will be profitable, oriented at the world market and e-mobility.
