Parliament approved a loan of EU € 1 billion

Рада одобрила привлечение кредита ЕС в 1 млрд евро

The deputies agreed to take a new loan

The deputies supported the ratification of the agreement on the tranche of the EU, which was agreed in September.

The Verkhovna Rada at a meeting on Thursday, November 8, passed a bill that ratified the loan agreement between Ukraine and the EU on attraction of credit in the amount of 1 billion euros. This decision was supported by 242 MPs.

“Subject to the conditions of borrowing under the previous three programmes EU macro-financial assistance, the interest rate of borrowing for 10-15 years is projected as acceptable (up to 2% per annum), but the exact amount will be known only during the release of the European Commission, which has the highest credit rating (AAA) on the external debt market for funds, will be transferred to Ukraine under the same rate”, – stated in the explanatory Memorandum.

The bill is necessary in order for Ukraine entered into force the international Treaty on obtaining a loan in the amount of 1 billion euros. The Memorandum was signed on 14 September in Kiev.

According to the agreement, macro-financial assistance will provide two tranches of 500 million euros each.

We will note, earlier today President Petro Poroshenko said that the EU will provide the first tranche of bailout in the coming weeks.
