Parliament has identified the mechanism of deportation of illegal migrants

The adoption of this law is necessary in the framework of the implementation of the action plan on visa liberalization.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law, according to which due to be expelled foreigners will be permitted to stay in Ukraine for their identification is not more than 18 months.

For the law in the second reading and in General voted 228 deputies in the Parliament on Thursday.

According to the document, the law “On legal status of foreigners and persons without citizenship” is determined that these category of people who do not have legal grounds for stay in Ukraine and are subject to deportation from the country, are placed in a temporary residence during the period necessary for their identification and security of forced removal, but not more than 18 months (the current law provides 12 months).

Now in the Code of administrative offences of Ukraine provides that the period of detention of foreigners and stateless persons in places of temporary stay, if they are illegally resident in Ukraine may not exceed 6 months. If the conditions for their removal do not exist, such period may be extended, but not more than 12 months.

The same Code prescribed features of manufacture on Affairs about the detention of foreigners and persons without citizenship subject to deportation.

As noted in the explanatory Memorandum to the bill, the adoption of this legislative act is necessary in the framework of the implementation of the action plan for visa liberalization. The law shall enter into force on the day following the day of its publication.
