Parliament has provided parents and guardians in orphanages of family type of the right to leave to care for a child

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (VRU) has provided to parents-caregivers in orphanages of family type of the right to leave to care for a child. For the corresponding bill No. 2975 “On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine on granting the parents-teachers additional social guarantees” in the second reading and in General voted 254 deputies.

The document introduces changes in article 179 and 1861 of the Code of labour laws of Ukraine and articles 18 and 20 of the law of Ukraine “On leave”.

Thus, the adopted law provides for the granting to one of parents-caregivers who are in an employment relationship with the employer, the right to use the leave to care for a child up to the age of three, and also clarified that the specified types of leave may use only one of the adoptive parents.

Recall, September 15, 2015 the Parliament passed the bill in the first reading as a basis.
