The penalties for truancy MPs sittings managed to save about 3 million UAH

Fines for missed meetings lie brought economic benefits, said the speaker of Parliament.

The penalties for truancy deputies of the Verkhovna Rada managed to save about 3 million UAH. This was stated by the speaker of the Parliament Andrei Parubiy in an interview with Focus magazine.

According to him, the problem of absenteeism in the Parliament remained, but it no longer threatens the normal operation because of the fines.

“When I headed the Parliament, this issue was very serious, now the situation has changed dramatically. I think we have achieved this through fines and publishing the names of absentees. On penalties saved about 3 million hryvnia,” – said paruby.

The speaker added that a particularly difficult day for parliamentarians is Friday, when Parliament carried out an hour of questions to the government, paying special attention to parliamentary queries and interventions from the podium.

In August, it was reported that wages of MPs deducted 3.5 million for missing the plenary meetings of the Verkhovna Rada.

Recall that in late September, it was reported that at the current session of the Parliament MPs have set a record for truancy meetings.
