The speaker of Parliament said that he had studied direct democracy “on a scientific level”, calling one of its biggest practitioners.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrei Parubiy said of the Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, the biggest practitioner in the matter of direct democracy. Such a statement he made in the air of ICTV TV channel.

“I am a huge supporter of direct democracy…. By the way, will tell you that the greatest man who practiced direct democracy, was Adolf Aleyzovich (Hitler – Ed.) in the 30-ies”, – he said.

Parubiy also noted that the studied direct democracy “on a scientific level,” then addressed the audience “not to forget the contribution of the Fuhrer in the development of democracy.”
