Paruby said about the lack of votes in Parliament to rename the two areas

Парубий заявил о нехватке голосов в Раде для переименования двух областей

Andriy paruby said that in the next weeks vote for the renaming of the two areas will be found

Rename Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions is not postponed “indefinitely”, said the speaker.

The Verkhovna Rada postponed the consideration of bills on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine on renaming Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions. Not all factions have decided on their support.

This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrei Parubiy, reports Interfax-Ukraine on Saturday, 6 October.

“There’s the organizational part… we have the political part, not all the factions yet made a final decision to support these bills… For me it is extremely important that when these issues will be considered in the hall, we had guaranteed 226 votes. I am convinced that the names nezakombinirovannyh areas must be changed. And I’m ready for another week to wait to faction decided, held internal discussions”, – said Parubiy.

He stressed that the renaming of areas is not postponed “indefinitely” – is the search for the necessary 226 votes for the direction of relevant bills to the constitutional court.

Parubiy believes that in the coming weeks, such votes will be found, but did not mention faction, who still refused to vote for these initiatives, but noted that several of the factions discussions.

“Here is an example. A number of deputies believes that the renaming (Dnipropetrovsk – ed.) must be on the Dnieper. The bill – Sichevskyi. And it would be silly if we in the debate between the Dnieper and Sichevskyi not decided completely,” said the speaker.

Thus, according to the speaker, regarding the renaming of the Kirovograd region in Kropyvnyts’ke parliamentarians smaller differences of positions.

We will remind, in July, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on legal policy and justice supported the renaming of the Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions.

A group of more than 150 people’s deputies submitted a bill to rename the Dnipropetrovsk region in Sichevskyi in April. The document on renaming Kirovograd region Kropiwnicki was filed in may.

Previously, these bills were supported by the parliamentary Committee on state construction, regional policy and local self-government.
